Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the grill side of the BBQ until very hot.

  2. Step 2: Peel the husks off the corn.

  3. Step 3: Place the corn on the BBQ grate. No oil is needed.

  4. Step 4: Cook for 10 minutes, turning every couple of minutes, until lightly charred and the kernels are tender when pierced with a knife but still juicy. Avoid overcooking, which can leave the corn shrivelled and dry.

  5. Step 5: During the last minute, brush the corn with melted butter and roll it around to coat.

  6. Step 6: Serve with softened butter and sprinkle with parsley, if desired.

Notes

Fresh corn is best, but frozen corn can also be grilled.

About this recipe

Grilled corn is an easy BBQ side, with charred kernels, juicy centres and melted salted butter.

Several ears of fresh, husked corn.
Fresh corn on the cob, ready to grill.

Grill husked corn on the BBQ grate rather than directly over the charcoal or heat source. Brush it with melted butter as it cooks for buttery flavour and extra char.
