  3. Step 3: Store any leftovers in an airtight container or jar in the pantry. Use the seasoning on roast potatoes, vegetables, and proteins, either during cooking or as a finishing salt.

Notes

Use table salt for finer grains that cling well, or choose another salt. Onion powder can be swapped for more garlic powder, and garlic powder for more onion powder. Substitute thyme for oregano or basil for parsley. Cayenne is optional; smoked paprika can be used in place of plain paprika.

Keep the blend airtight and dry to prevent clumping. It will keep indefinitely when stored this way.

About this recipe

Mix this savory spice blend and sprinkle it over hot French fries, homemade or store-bought, to taste. It also works on wedges, roast potatoes, vegetables, and cooked proteins.

The blend makes 5 teaspoons, enough for a double batch of homemade fries. Store leftovers in an airtight container or jar in the pantry.
