Equipment
- Jug
- Stick blender
Instructions
Step 1: Put everything except the sour cream in a jug. Blend with a stick blender until completely smooth. Stir in the sour cream. Taste and add more salt or lime juice if needed.

Tip: Stirring in the sour cream at the end keeps the sauce creamier so it clings better.
Notes
For a milder, less rich variation, substitute yogurt for the sour cream.
Refrigerate for up to 3 days. To keep it for up to 5 days, replace the raw garlic with 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.
About this recipe
This creamy jalapeño sauce is tangy, herb-flecked, and gently spicy. Spoon it over tacos, quesadillas, or burritos, or serve it with veggie sticks or corn chips.

Pickled jalapeños bring briny tang, while fresh jalapeños give the sauce a fresher flavor and can be hotter. Use a little less if choosing fresh.
