Instructions

  1. Step 1: Cut the florets into slices no thicker than 0.7 cm / 1/4 inch.

  2. Step 2: Place the broccoli in a bowl with the remaining salad ingredients.

  3. Step 3: Mix the dressing well in a large bowl. Use a whisk to ensure everything is well incorporated. The dressing will be thin and pourable.

  4. Step 4: Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well.

  5. Step 5: Cover and refrigerate overnight, for at least 2 hours. Remove from the refrigerator and bring to room temperature before serving.

Notes

If you prefer not to eat raw broccoli, steam the florets rather than boiling them so they do not become waterlogged.

About this recipe

This broccoli salad pairs crisp florets with bacon, dried cranberries, almond slivers and red onion. A creamy dressing made with mayonnaise, Greek yoghurt or sour cream, lemon and herbs brings it together.

Slice the florets before tossing them with the dressing so more of each piece is coated. Give the salad time to chill before serving.
